No John, they fragment the National Party's voice, not the voice of those people who vote for the independants, they get exactly what they vote for. It's called Democracy.

John Howard used to whine all the time when he couldn't get his legislation passed through the Senate because he didn't have a majority. He just couldn't seem to realise that people put the filters there (ie the Democrats and Greens) to stop him doing something stupid.

Come July next year we won't even have that. :`(
